Kovačević: The process of lifting USA sanctions has begun — the time of justice for Srpska is coming

“The process of lifting U.S. sanctions on individuals from Republika Srpska has begun — which means that the time of justice for Srpska is coming,” said Radovan Kovačević, spokesperson for the SNSD, during an appearance on RTRS’s Morning Program.

“These people were sanctioned simply because they defended the interests of Republika Srpska. This is extremely important news — the time of justice for Srpska is approaching,” emphasized Kovačević.

He said this development confirms that SNSD remains the only credible political partner in both Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Despite all the attacks and hardships we endured — and the recent period was very difficult for Srpska — we, led by President Milorad Dodik, sought only to protect the Dayton Agreement. We wouldn’t have faced any problems if we had agreed to weaken Republika Srpska, but we refused. They threatened us with war, rattled their weapons, and waged a disgraceful political persecution against President Dodik. But now we are emerging as winners,” he stated.

Kovačević added that those who attacked Srpska are now defeated, and that only their “helpers within Srpska” remain — “who will also be defeated in November and every time it becomes necessary.”

“Srpska has always been victorious and will continue to be,” he declared.

He pointed out that political foresight is key to success, emphasizing that Milorad Dodik showed vision and courage in aligning early with Donald Trump, even under heavy pressure.

“President Dodik didn’t wait for Trump to win — he chose his side long ago, fully aware of the consequences, and was willing to pay any price for his beliefs. And now it’s clear — no harm done to Srpska has been irreversible,” Kovačević said.

He concluded that SNSD’s decisions are always guided by the interests of Republika Srpska.

“If Milorad Dodik hadn’t been the way he is, we wouldn’t be witnessing the lifting of sanctions today. We keep proving that Republika Srpska is not some backwater, but a modern republic in Europe — a place open to cooperation and respect,” Kovačević concluded.
