Republika Srpska welcomed 343,984 tourists in the first eight months of this year, who achieved a total of 821,763 overnight stays — marking a 5% increase in arrivals and a 2.4% rise in overnight stays compared to the same period last year, according to the Tourism Organization of Srpska.
Mountain resorts recorded a 6.5% increase in overnight stays, while spa destinations saw a 2.7% growth. On average, visitors stayed 2.4 days.
As in previous years, most foreign visitors came from neighboring countries — Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro, while notable numbers also arrived from Turkey, Germany, Austria, China, and Italy.
Domestic tourists accounted for the majority of overnight stays in spa towns, the Tourism Organization reported.
