The opening of a foundry in Laktaši, valued at 40 million euros, is one of the most significant investments in recent years and a clear indication that Republika Srpska is a favorable destination for investment, said former Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković.
“I am grateful to the president of the PMP Group, Mr. Luigino Pozzo, and his family for realizing their investment in Laktaši. In addition to Brazil, China, and the United States, where they already operate factories, they have also implemented major investments in Gradiška and Laktaši in our Republika,” stated Višković.
He emphasized that today’s opening of the foundry in Laktaši was agreed upon during an official working visit to Italy in May 2023, when he served as Prime Minister.
“At that time, together with the mayors of Gradiška, Zoran Adžić, and Laktaši, Miroslav Bojić, we visited the companies and facilities managed by the Pozzo family and signed an agreement on the construction of the business plant in Laktaši, which is now being ceremonially opened,” Višković explained.
He pointed out that the visit had been organized at the highest level.
“Back then, we familiarized ourselves with the operations of the Pozzo family’s companies in Italy and in other countries, as well as with their socially responsible approach to the community. I am thankful to Mr. Pozzo for his cooperation and for everything he has done as a respected investor in Italy and worldwide. He has greatly contributed to the promotion of the business climate in Republika Srpska. Thanks to his positive experiences here, other investors have shown interest in potential investments in Srpska, with some business arrangements already underway and soon to be presented and implemented,” Višković said.
He also noted that PMP “Jelšingrad” Gradiška in Republika Srpska is a positive example of successful privatization and responsible foreign investment.
“I would also like to thank Laktaši Mayor Miroslav Bojić for his efforts, dedication, and responsible approach both toward the resources of Laktaši and the investor. Together, these factors have resulted in a modern and important investment in Republika Srpska,” Višković concluded.
Today’s investment in the PMP Group foundry in Laktaši comes as a new project, following the company’s positive experience with its operations in Republika Srpska through PMP “Jelšingrad” Gradiška.
