Deputy Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers Aleksandar Goganović stated that the recent visits of Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović to the US and Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik to the Russian Federation confirm the active international presence and political visibility of Republika Srpska on the global stage, while, as he emphasized, “political Sarajevo is lost in contemporary geopolitical processes.”
Goganović stressed that Republika Srpska clearly demonstrates its ability to build contacts and maintain relations with all who respect the Dayton Peace Agreement, thereby protecting its own interests and ensuring international recognition.
“Political Sarajevo cannot find its way in the new global dynamics. The time when the international community made decisions in BiH is over. Today it is crucial that everyone adheres to the Dayton Peace Agreement and that decisions are made by the three constituent peoples and the two entities,” Goganović pointed out.
He added that attempts to impose decisions from Sarajevo or from individual foreign diplomats lack legitimacy, while every attempt at centralizing BiH leads to new political conflicts and divisions.
Goganović stated that dialogue, compromise, and mutual respect are the solution for overcoming the political crisis in BiH.
