Young Igokea M:tel basketball player Luka Galić, together with Serbia’s cadet national team, won the title of European champion.
“Unity and togetherness carried us to the title,” Galić told our Television.
Winning the gold medal at the European Cadet Championship is, for Luka Galić, the fulfillment of a dream.
He and his teammates defeated Lithuania 99:86 in the final, proving that a bright future lies ahead of them.
Their only loss came against Spain, and interestingly, they scored more than 90 points in every game.
Galić has been outstanding for Igokea’s youth teams, and in the match against Partizan, he made his debut for the senior squad.
This season, he is expected to play in the ABA 2 League and the BiH Premier League with Student Igokea.
The golden generation of Serbia’s cadets has thus taken a huge step on the path once walked by many greats of Serbian basketball.
Next year, they will compete at the World Championship in Turkey, where they will once again contend for the top places.
