It is absurd that the two Bosniak members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović, are sending messages from the United Kingdom criticizing Republika Srpska for building relations with the Russian Federation, said international relations expert and former diplomat Luciano Kaluža in RTRS Morning Program.
“Political Sarajevo is not mature; they remain stuck in the 1990s narrative and fail to understand the changes taking place in the geopolitical landscape,” Kaluža emphasized.
He added that the United Kingdom’s interference in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina brings nothing but negative consequences.
“There is a continuous pattern of British interference in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s affairs. Their tendency to implement their political agenda in this region is still evident today. The trace of such policies is clearly visible, as seen during the visit of Komšić and Bećirović to London,” he added.
On the other hand, Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik is actively working on strengthening relations with Russia, Kaluža noted.
“Being a friend of Russia is extremely important. Through cooperation with Russia, Republika Srpska receives political support, as well as economic cooperation. There is also China, which maintains a highly significant relationship with Republika Srpska. In the context of emerging geopolitical alignments, it is crucial for a small entity like Republika Srpska to have powerful friends such as Russia and China,” Kaluža concluded.
