President of Srpska in Russia

President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated for RTRS that one of the most impressive economic forums in the world is currently taking place in Saint Petersburg.

“It is organized by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and I received his invitation to participate in the work of the forum. We had a meeting with the Governor of Saint Petersburg, Beglov, where we discussed mutual cooperation. Republika Srpska and the Saint Petersburg region signed a cooperation agreement about ten years ago,” said Dodik.

The President of Srpska emphasized that cooperation in the field of healthcare includes not only mutual visits but also the exchange of experience.

“We are also discussing the possibility of organizing certain types of medical material production in Srpska in the future,” Dodik noted.

He also mentioned student exchange programs, highlighting that students and pupils from Srpska have been offered free education and accommodation, which he considers very important.

“It would be good if at least 20 high school pupils and 20 university students could come here in the first year,” Dodik stressed.

The President of Republika Srpska noted that a meeting is also planned with the Governor of the Republic of Tatarstan.

“We have a good cooperation agreement with them as well. It is the most economically and technologically developed region of the Russian Federation. They are eager to cooperate and share their experiences,” Dodik stated.

He added that meetings are also planned with companies with which Srpska already has established cooperation, as well as with those with potential for new partnerships.

“For Republika Srpska, it is of key importance to align not only with compatible economies, but also with people who want to accept us. Here, we are received as friends and surrounded by brotherly love. They understand where we are and the conditions we live in,” said Dodik.

He added that Republika Srpska has been offered the opportunity to create a trade center that would feature products from Srpska, an idea that has existed for several years.

“We have a completely open opportunity to work. There is not a single idea coming from our side that would not be supported here. We should encourage our people—this is, in terms of opportunities, a challenging and promising country,” Dodik concluded.
