The International Amateur Theatre Festival Laktaši 2025 will officially open on Thursday, 19 June at 8:00 p.m. in the main hall of the Cultural Centre, with the premiere performance of “The Choosy Bride-to-Be” by the drama studio “Daske” from Laktaši, based on the text by Kosta Trifković and directed by Ognjen Todorović.
The festival will run from 19 to 22 June, with theatre troupes from Novi Grad, Kragujevac, Ub, Pećinci, and Kakanj taking part in the competitive programme. All performances will be held in the main hall at 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., except on Sunday when only one play will be staged at 7:00 p.m.
The non-competitive part of the festival will be dedicated to the youngest audiences, with the puppet theatre play “It’s Time for a Fairytale” performed by the Puppet Theatre from Banja Luka, featuring actors Saša Terzić and Dragana Ilić.
After each festival evening, roundtable discussions will be held, moderated by Prof. Dr. Ljiljana Čekić, theatre scholar and actress of the National Theatre of Republika Srpska.
The jury consists of Mario Ćulim, MA in dramaturgy, actress Božana Kukilo, and dramaturge Svjetlana Đurić.
As in previous years, admission to all performances is free.
The organisers of the festival are the Public Institution “Centre for Culture and Education” Laktaši and the theatre “Daske”, with the support of the City of Laktaši and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska.
