Minister of Justice of Republika Srpska Miloš Bukejlović stated that the Draft Law on the Court of BiH is unacceptable for Srpska because, among other things, it could result in the removal of its constitutional competencies.
Bukejlović emphasized that this law, which the House of Representatives and House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH were to consider under urgent procedure, must be adopted through regular procedure.
“Although the adoption of this law is necessary for strengthening legal certainty and the functioning of the judiciary, it is harmful to Republika Srpska and may result in the loss of its competencies,” said Bukejlović.
According to him, systemic laws important for BiH’s path to the EU must be adopted through regular procedure, based on coordinated and joint agreement at the BiH level.
“Considering that the adoption of this law is one of the conditions for opening BiH’s EU accession negotiations, systemic laws crucial for the European path of BiH should be passed through regular procedure, with coordinated, joint agreement, to allow thorough analysis of arguments and comments, while respecting all levels of government,” Bukejlović concluded.
