Stevandić: Cvijanović successfully promoted Republika Srpska’s positions

President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, stated that the Serb member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, successfully promoted the positions of Republika Srpska in her address in Dayton — positions that are fundamentally aligned with the future and with peace.

“This is in line with the new U.S. policy, but also with the stance of many countries in Europe, Asia, and the BRICS group. Within the UN as well, the prevailing principle is to preserve peace and not to alter agreements to anyone’s detriment — especially not to the detriment of the signatories and constituent peoples,” Stevandić said in a statement to SRNA.

He emphasized that the Dayton Agreement established peace and that the next phase should be one of development. However, he warned that a different approach is currently at play — one that misinterprets the revision of Dayton.

Stevandić stressed that those who have altered the Dayton Agreement have created crises, undermined hard-earned peace, and brought Bosnia and Herzegovina to the brink of new conflicts — something neither the Serbs nor Republika Srpska have done.

“Therefore, we can say that Cvijanović presented realpolitik, and that the demands of the Bosniaks are completely unrealistic. They support those like Christian Schmidt, who are changing the Dayton Agreement, undermining the constitutional structure, the equality of peoples and entities, and dragging BiH back into a phase of instability and potential conflict,” Stevandić concluded.
