Milićević: The French-German non-paper is another form of political and economic pressure

The Minister without portfolio in charge of relations with the diaspora of Serbia, Đorđe Milićević, stated today in Banja Luka that the non-paper issued by France and Germany is yet another form of political and economic pressure.

Speaking in Banja Luka, Milićević said that Serbia and Republika Srpska are under enormous pressure and facing serious challenges, and that in such a moment, unity is of utmost importance.

He emphasized that the Serbs have always been as strong as they are united and that now, in addition to unity, they also need wisdom and rationality.

“I must admit that I was overly optimistic when I believed there was even a shred of reason in Sarajevo right before the verdict against President Milorad Dodik. Unfortunately, I saw that reason was entirely absent. To indict someone in the 21st century for a verbal offense—especially the president of Republika Srpska—is not just an attack on an individual, but on an entire people. Simply because of a differing political stance and opinion. That is unimaginable to me,” Milićević stressed.

He underlined that the most important thing right now is restraint, responsibility, and a commitment to dialogue rather than escalation.

“Serbia, of course, is not a mere observer, because it has always stood by its people in Republika Srpska and BiH. Serbia is a guarantor of the Dayton Agreement and, as such, will always insist on respect for international law, which includes respect for the constitutional competences of Republika Srpska, as well as the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Milićević stated.

He added that, unlike many officials in BiH, not a single official from Serbia has ever questioned the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
