Sanja Vulić, head of the SNSD caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated that instead of recognizing reality and respecting the democratic will of the people, two key European actors—France and Germany—are insisting on interfering in internal affairs and applying pressure that is unacceptable for any democratic society.
According to her, if Germany and France truly wish to contribute to the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina, they should understand that Republika Srpska is not undermining the constitutional order but rather defending its institutions, constitutional competences, and its legitimately elected president.
“The imposed High Representative, lacking legitimacy and UN Security Council confirmation, Christian Schmidt, acts through arbitrary and unconstitutional decisions more like a political executioner than a neutral international mediator,” said Vulić.
She emphasized that it is concerning that Germany and France are supporting opposition structures which do not reflect the will of the people, lack the capacity to lead complex processes, and build their politics on internal destabilization. She stressed that such an approach does not contribute to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path, but rather complicates it further.
“Despite numerous provocations, representatives of SNSD and HDZ, the two strongest legitimate political parties of the constituent peoples, have proposed and adopted all laws aligned with the EU path and the interests of all peoples in BiH,” Vulić reminded.
She underlined that Republika Srpska remains committed to the European path, but not at the cost of trampling its rights, institutions, and the electoral will of its people.
Vulić condemned and firmly rejected the claims made in the non-paper sent by Germany and France to EU institutions, which calls for the isolation of Republika Srpska under the pretext of allegedly undermining the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić informed members of the National Security Council yesterday about the non-paper prepared by France and Germany concerning BiH, which also pertains to Republika Srpska.
Večernje novosti reports that the document signals a planned harsh offensive by Western powers and Brussels against the leadership of Republika Srpska—President Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Radovan Višković, and National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić—with the aim of removing them from power under the pretext that they are allegedly working to dismantle BiH and hinder its path toward NATO and the EU.
