Urgent item at Serbia’s National Security Council: France and Germany draft a non-paper on Bosnia and Herzegovina

The session of Serbia’s National Security Council lasted more than two hours, and the public was informed about its content by the Chief of the General Staff of Serbia, Milan Mojsilović.

He stated that the meeting went on somewhat longer and that it focused on the situation in the region and security in Kosovo and Metohija. Guidelines and conclusions were also issued regarding Serbia’s next steps and the role of relevant institutions.

“The President of Serbia informed the members of the Security Council about a document drafted by France and Germany, which is a non-paper concerning Bosnia and Herzegovina, specifically Republika Srpska,” said Mojsilović, as reported by RT Balkan.

He added that the document complicates the position of Republika Srpska. Members of the expanded National Security Council were also informed about it, and directions were given on how Serbia should address the matter.

The Council also discussed the unprecedented harassment of the Serb population in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the implementation of unilateral measures that threaten the lives of Serbs. These issues, said Mojsilović, fully deserved the attention of the National Security Council members.

“Tasks were defined for the Serbian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Relevant institutions are expected to produce conclusions with operational positions,” Mojsilović concluded.
