Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan, expressed his gratitude to Interpol President Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi during their meeting in Saint Petersburg for maintaining a professional stance regarding a political request from certain individuals in Bosnia and Herzegovina to issue an international arrest warrant against elected officials from Republika Srpska—a request that was not approved.
President Al-Raisi emphasized that Interpol does not interfere in the internal political matters of any country, stressing that the organization is strictly focused on police-related issues.
During their meeting, Minister Karan also thanked Interpol for its long-standing professional cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska.
Karan used the opportunity to invite President Al-Raisi and his team to visit the Ministry in Republika Srpska, in order to further strengthen cooperation in the fight against all forms of crime.
The meeting between Karan and Al-Raisi took place on the sidelines of the International Legal Forum which concluded yesterday in Saint Petersburg.
