Former officer of the Counterintelligence Service, Ljuban Karan, stated for SRNA that Bosniak authorities have for years maintained Wahhabis as a “hidden asset,” with the aim of using them as “special military formations” to resolve issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina militarily and to the detriment of Serbs. According to him, the only proper response to this is Serb unity.
Karan expressed his belief that Wahhabis are expected to bear the brunt of any potential armed action, which, he claims, Bosniaks continually threaten.
“They are convinced they can solve the problems in BiH militarily, and they keep creating and escalating those problems,” said Karan.
He warned that Wahhabis have for decades been sheltered in their jamaats and in villages across the Federation of BiH that are off-limits to security agencies—something which, he says, is now starting to come to light.
Karan asserted that any future conflict where Wahhabis act as Bosniak “special forces” is being pushed by Germany and the United Kingdom.
“They are working to ignite the Balkans once again. The formula for war here has always been the same—support one side while criticizing, condemning, and attacking the other, even if that side has done nothing wrong. That is exactly what is happening now,” he said.
He also emphasized that this is why key political and other figures from Republika Srpska are constantly being targeted with arrest warrants and blacklists.
Karan noted that Wahhabis have already been caught at military ranges conducting weapons training—as was the case recently in Mostar—and stressed that they should not even be near such facilities, let alone organizing exercises.
According to him, these activities happen continuously but are only occasionally exposed.
“Why does the Bosniak political establishment—primarily the SDA—insist on empowering Wahhabis? They are meant to serve as special forces, trained for specific operations, like France’s Foreign Legion, Britain’s SAS, or the U.S. Marines,” Karan said.
He added that the situation is now being abused, claiming that “the Bosniak side wants everything—land, water, air—except the Serbs.” He also pointed out that statements coming from Sarajevo are consistently threatening and inflammatory, but go unpunished because they are backed by those who want conflict in the Balkans.
“These Wahhabis are part of their future military formations—highly trained, well-prepared, and ideologically driven religious fanatics,” Karan concluded.
He insisted that Serb unity is the greatest weapon the Serbs have—one that terrifies those orchestrating conflict.
“When I see the President of Serbia and the President of Republika Srpska, Aleksandar Vučić and Milorad Dodik, standing alongside the Serbian Patriarch, I know that no one can harm us—regardless of their war plans and so-called ‘hidden assets’ like the Wahhabis. That unity seriously frightens them, and they are actively working to undermine it,” Karan concluded.
Meanwhile, security expert Dževad Galijašević told SRNA that Zukan Helez, Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, is allegedly forming a structure akin to Hamas or Hezbollah within the Armed Forces of BiH, aiming to turn it into a Muslim army.
According to Galijašević, Helez supports Wahhabism and is allowing its adherents to use military training grounds to practice shooting.
