A warning without major consequences for Omarksa

A warning without major consequences for Omarksa

In the 19th round of the Second League of Republika Srpska, Western Group, Omarksa suffered an unexpected home defeat to FSA Prijedor, losing 1-2.

Visitors dominate in Omarksa

The visitors arrived in Omarksa without any hesitation, stormed through like a high-speed train, and defeated the uninspired league leaders. The fact that the score wasn’t even more convincing was purely down to luck for the home team. Prijedor’s coach, Nenad Bašić, completely outsmarted Velimir Stojnić.

The visitors took the lead in the 20th minute in an unusual way. Goalkeeper Đorđe Vojvodić had the ball in his hands, but when attempting to clear it, he struck Stefan Stojić, and the rebound fell straight to Nikola Milićević, who slotted it into an empty net.

In the 31st minute, after a corner kick, a low cross went through the entire penalty area, and Stojić was the quickest to react, scoring for 2-0. Omarksa managed to reduce the deficit in the 42nd minute when Branko Rosić headed the ball into the net from a corner. The home side had two clear one-on-one chances, but goalkeeper Nikola Zmijanac came out on top both times.

Omarksa’s weak response in the second half

Expectations were high for an all-out attacking response from Omarksa in the second half, but nothing came of it. The only moment of excitement came in stoppage time when Lazar Nišić went down in the penalty area, prompting loud penalty appeals from the home team. However, referee Filip Sredojević from Gradiška saw it as a dive and booked the Omarksa player for simulation.

On the other end, the visitors had two more clear-cut chances and even hit the crossbar, leaving them somewhat disappointed to have won by only a narrow 2-1 margin.

East Group results and upcoming fixtures

In the East Group, league leaders Vlasenica secured a 3-0 home victory over Jedinstvo from Brodac. The match in Janja between home side Podrinje and Glasinac 1936 from Sokolac was not played. As previously reported, Glasinac had requested a postponement of their opening match against Guber from Srebrenica due to not having started their preparations. This was granted, but this time, they failed to provide any explanation for not traveling to Janja, resulting in a default 3-0 victory for Podrinje.
