The president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, expressed his conviction that the United States and the Office of the High Representative (OHR) will be declared a criminal organization, just as USAID, which managed OHR’s operations, has been.
Dodik recalled that former U.S. President Donald Trump stated that USAID is a criminal organization and announced that investigators would come to Sarajevo to examine its activities, with some already arriving from the United States.
“OHR is nothing because, according to the Dayton Agreement, there is only a high representative. However, since 1996, Republika Srpska has never been consulted—they have only imposed decisions upon us,” Dodik stated.
A long struggle for change
“We have patiently endured their nonsense for all these years because we believed that this moment would come—when the establishment in Washington would change its stance and allow nations to fight for their freedom. I listened to Trump, who said that the time has come for nations to fight for their freedom—and here we are, fighting for ours,” Dodik said in an interview with RT Balkan.
He emphasized that now is the right time for Republika Srpska to reclaim its rights and that, as president, it is crucial for him to seize the moment.
He pointed out the significance of the Trump administration blocking the appointment of a U.S. ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina who had been selected by the Biden administration.
Growing differences between the U.S. and the EU
Dodik also noted an unprecedented situation—that the President of the United States and European leaders hold divergent views on key issues.
He stated that both he and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić share the desire to preserve peace and the struggle of Republika Srpska for its rights, although explaining this struggle remains a challenge.
“So far, especially in Western neoliberal circles, they have never been willing to listen to what we have to say. Instead, they have always imposed bad solutions, preemptively blaming us for rejecting them, which allowed them to gain some leverage. But now they have realized—there is no more of that,” Dodik asserted.
New geopolitical circumstances and the downfall of the Biden administration
Dodik stressed that geopolitical circumstances have shifted dramatically, and that Biden’s administration, which he called disgraceful and criminal, is no longer in power. He pointed out that Trump is persistently fighting against the American deep state, which, together with the neoliberal structures of Brussels, has caused significant harm and chaos in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Even today, they try to offer me so-called ‘solutions to the crisis’—like unblocking certain projects as a bargaining chip. They always try to buy us off or offer something small in return. But they are no longer our source of funds. We have friends with whom we can cooperate. We are working under difficult circumstances, but we are achieving successes,” Dodik said.
He also expressed gratitude for the international support he received, specifically thanking Croatian President Zoran Milanović and others for recognizing the reality of the situation in BiH.
Trump’s victory as a turning point
“The key event was the U.S. presidential election. If Biden’s administration had remained in power, we would have been politically buried here,” Dodik concluded.
