Višković: Security situation is stable

The security situation in Republika Srpska is stable, and we are doing everything as institutions to maintain it at the most favorable level, ensuring that no one feels more or less secure, stated Prime Minister Radovan Višković during his appearance on the program Aktuelno.

“We guarantee security to all residents of Republika Srpska. Institutions will do everything to protect their property and their safety, ensuring that they enjoy all their rights regardless of their national or religious affiliation,” Višković emphasized.

He pointed out that talks about potential conflicts and threats to security are nothing more than political propaganda and lies, aimed at causing unrest among the population.

“Today, in the streets of Banja Luka, you may have noticed an increased presence of EUFOR vehicles. We immediately reacted—Željka Cvijanović, the Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency, spoke with the EUFOR commander in Sarajevo. She essentially called on those institutions to act with caution,” Višković added.

He noted that EUFOR considers this part of their routine activities.

“This wasn’t noticeable 15 or 20 days ago, or even a month ago, but now, with tensions rising, people start noticing such things, and it unsettles them. I have information that even you were contacted about this situation. I once again reassure all citizens—there is absolutely no reason for concern,” Višković stated.

Political turmoil following the Court of BiH verdict

Višković further emphasized that the political situation in Republika Srpska has been destabilized due to the actions of the Court of BiH and its politically motivated verdict against President Milorad Dodik, who, according to Višković, was simply fulfilling his duties in accordance with the Constitution of Republika Srpska.

He warned that the politically orchestrated trial against the president of Republika Srpska could have a negative impact on economic development, but assured that the authorities are working to minimize the effects on citizens.

New constitution for Republika Srpska

Speaking about the upcoming meeting in Banja Luka, where the new Constitution of Republika Srpska is expected to be finalized, Višković confirmed that the new highest legal act will eliminate all provisions imposed by high representatives.
