Dodik: From Sarajevo, they can only salute Republika Srpska

Republika Srpska can only be saluted from Sarajevo, said Milorad Dodik, president of Republika Srpska, during RTRS Special, commenting on accusations from Sarajevo about an alleged “coup from Srpska.”

  • “Republika Srpska has its own stance and its own path. If there was a coup, which there isn’t, you cannot overthrow something that does not exist,” Dodik stated.

He emphasized that today marks 33 years since Republika Srpska adopted its first Constitution, in a fully democratic atmosphere.

  • “With this Constitution, the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina ceased to exist—though it never really existed—and a legal bypass was established. Only Srpska and the Federation of BiH remained. Any additional competences for BiH could only be granted through an agreement between Srpska and the Federation. But there have been no such agreements,” Dodik added.

He pointed out that the hysteria from Sarajevo in recent days only proves one thing—they are not in the right.

  • “I live for the day when we will expel SIPA from here. How is it possible that our people don’t see what’s happening? SIPA will no longer operate here. Those are not patriots. Our young men are harassed in Sarajevo over a video post. That will not happen again. I will demand the names of those who lack patriotic sentiment. Why are you humiliating people?” Dodik questioned.

He announced plans to propose a new discussion in the National Assembly of Srpska on a new Constitution that will clearly define the constitutional competencies Srpska originally had.

  • “Our policy is to return to the original Dayton Agreement. Yet, the SDA refuses to even discuss this—why?” Dodik asked.

Dodik also pointed out what he called a “parody” in Sarajevo last night regarding the observance of March 1, which he described as an unconstitutional holiday.

  • “They celebrate March 1 as BiH’s national day. The glorification of the so-called Army of BiH is just further proof that we should leave BiH. You cannot celebrate the Army of BiH, which was a criminal structure during the war. They can say whatever they want—we know what we have been working towards for years,” Dodik stated.

He emphasized that Republika Srpska has responded to every imposed solution.
