The deputy chair of the Council of Ministers, Staša Košarac, stated that the political leadership of Republika Srpska is demonstrating maturity by seeking appropriate solutions for the challenges ahead, given the politically motivated case against President Milorad Dodik.
Košarac noted that the process is being expedited at the behest of foreign actors who are aware of the many geopolitical challenges. He emphasized the need to establish an official position through the institutions of Republika Srpska.
“Putting the president of Republika Srpska on trial just for doing his job in accordance with the Constitution speaks to the agenda that Bosniaks, together with foreign actors, are trying to impose in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This politically motivated case against President Dodik is just the beginning, as the same fate will befall all Serb representatives who do not comply with the political interests and demands of Sarajevo and certain foreigners,” Košarac stated.
He stressed that Republika Srpska is a state with stability, prosperity, and a clear future and that it will defend itself through its institutions, decisions, and laws enacted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
“The only correct course of action would be to drop the case against President Dodik. Any other outcome will prompt the institutions of Republika Srpska to take measures to protect its Constitution and status,” Košarac told reporters in Sarajevo.
According to him, the policy of Republika Srpska is a strict adherence to the Dayton Peace Agreement and a commitment to the structure of two entities and three constituent peoples.
“If we were to implant microchips into any Bosniak representative today, we would see that they may formally support Dayton, but in reality, they are pushing for centralization and a system where Sarajevo has the final say on all matters,” Košarac said.
He pointed out that the attack on President Dodik is both personal and political and that it sends a clear message to Serb representatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s institutions that they will face the same treatment if they do not align with the political directives from Sarajevo.
Košarac criticized the opposition from Republika Srpska for aligning with Sarajevo’s political agenda.
“For the sake of a few promised positions in Sarajevo, they are willing to undermine the decisions of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska and downplay the seriousness of the situation,” he said.
He concluded that the opposition is submissively seeking political positions in Sarajevo rather than standing firm for the interests of Republika Srpska.
