Seventeen-year-old Sofija Rakić, the champion of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina in shooting, has traveled to Tallinn, Estonia, to compete in the European Championship for the U16 and U18 categories, her father and coach Predrag Rakić told SRNA.

“Sofija will compete in the air pistol discipline, both individually and in team events. We expect her to place in the top rankings and secure a qualification norm for the Youth Olympics in Skopje this July,” Rakić stated.

According to him, qualifying for the Youth Olympics would be the greatest achievement possible for an athlete of her age.

In addition to her sporting success, Sofija is an outstanding student of the IT program at the Technical School in Bijeljina. She is also a member of the TRB Shooting Club.

Her father, Predrag Rakić, has a long career in shooting sports—he is a national team member and an international shooting instructor. Four years ago, his daughter followed in his footsteps and took up the sport.

“Sofija has been achieving top results for four years. She is the BiH champion in all categories, the winner of the BiH Cup, and the winner of a major international tournament in Slovakia—the Olympic Hopes Tournament,” Rakić highlighted, listing some of her remarkable achievements.
