The enjoyment of every sip of rakija made from the finest Viljamovka pears, the queen of pears, is something you can experience at Ilija Mijatović’s household in Šušnjari, near Laktaši.
On their 1.5-hectare estate, in addition to various pear varieties, they also cultivate plums, particularly Čačak selections and Stanley varieties.
This family farm was officially established in 2009, and their rakija holds the distinction of being the first certified organic rakija in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- “We are among the few producers who offer rakija with a pear inside the bottle, and ours is entirely eco-friendly. It is no surprise that it has found its way to true connoisseurs, not only in our country but also among our people abroad, particularly in Germany, where it serves as a nostalgic reminder of home,” say the Mijatović family.
