Dodik: Serbs do not want war but have the right to defend their positions

The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, emphasized that Serbs do not want war and that he has no intention of engaging in one, but wished luck to anyone who dares to enter Republika Srpska with any kind of formation.

Commenting on Elmedin Konaković’s statements about maintaining peace, Dodik noted that he is working to uphold the Dayton Agreement, which, he claims, the previous U.S. administration undermined, leaving Serbs and Croats marginalized in terms of their capacities.

  • “They are now nervous. They have to legalize something that is unconstitutional and not in line with Dayton. Of course, that won’t happen. I have no intention of waging war. That’s absurd. Anyone who dares to enter Republika Srpska with any formation, I wish them good luck,” said Dodik.

He further stated that Republika Srpska, even hypothetically, could make a decision to send its forces to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), but noted that such an agreement would not be possible in the Federation.

He pointed out that even the military cannot act unilaterally, recalling that decisions on such matters require the consensus of all three members of the Presidency.

  • “Maybe two of them want war, but one certainly doesn’t. What are you even talking about? Some paramilitary? Their problem is Dodik because he has his own stance, and Bosniaks have been directed to see Dodik as a problem. Why?” Dodik asked.

Dodik added that the Bosniak political agenda insists on preserving Bosnia and Herzegovina at any cost, even without Republika Srpska and the concept of constituent peoples, while promoting the “one person, one vote” principle.

  • “When we say that’s not acceptable, they claim we want war. Serbs do not want war, but they have the right to defend their positions. Bosniak political representatives have gone berserk,” said Dodik.

He assured that he feels well and that no one should worry about his health.
