Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers Elmedin Konaković has shown disgrace and shame, proving his fear of the new American administration, said Radovan Kovačević, a delegate in the Serb Caucus of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Konaković shared a status on his Facebook profile from an X account bearing the name of Tammy Bruce, the newly appointed State Department spokesperson by Donald Trump, which supports the U.S. sanctions imposed on individuals from Republika Srpska for allegedly “undermining peace and the Dayton Agreement.”
However, the status was published six days ago, prior to Bruce assuming her new role.
- “The newly appointed spokesperson for the U.S. Secretary of State took over the official account of the State Department spokesperson in accordance with protocol, which had previously been used by her predecessor. Only the spokesperson’s name was updated,” Kovačević explained, responding to Konaković’s post on X.
He further clarified that previous posts are not deleted from the account.
- “The United States condemns efforts to undermine peace and stability in the Western Balkans. By marking Republika Srpska Day, we sanction financial supporters of Milorad Dodik and eight individuals for violating the Dayton Peace Agreement,” reads the Twitter post shared by Konaković.
Trump highly values Tammy Bruce’s work and experience, which is why he proposed her to join Marco Rubio’s team as Secretary of State.
Konaković “clarified” that Bruce, appointed by President Donald Trump, “explained why individuals financially supporting Dodik were sanctioned, condemning efforts to undermine peace, stability, and violations of the Dayton Agreement.”
- “The main reason is the organization of celebrations for the unconstitutional Day of Republika Srpska. U.S. policy toward Bosnia and Herzegovina remains unchanged, and the USA continues to be our country’s most important partner,” Konaković wrote.
