Perić Romić: The tragedy of BiH is not declaring Murphy persona non grata

The tragedy of Bosnia and Herzegovina is that it failed to declare Michael Murphy persona non grata, said SNSD MP in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Ranka Perić Romić, in a statement to Srna.

“This man has undermined and continues to undermine the stability and democracy in BiH. He constantly speaks about the Dayton Agreement, yet he has done everything to dismantle it. His arrival and inappropriate actions and behavior, unbecoming of an ambassador, have triggered one of the greatest crises in BiH, precisely at a moment when the positions of Serbs, Bosniaks, and Croats were converging, and progress was being made on the European path,” Perić Romić stated.

When asked to comment on Murphy’s claim that the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, is allegedly trying to dismantle Dayton and that his personal interests do not align with those of SNSD or Serbs in BiH, she told Srna that the lies Murphy has spread about President Dodik exceed all reasonable limits.

“In the history of relations between BiH and America, it will be noted that the arrival of a biased and unprofessional ambassador prompted Republika Srpska and all its institutions to respond decisively to his threats and blackmail by cutting off all communication,” Perić Romić emphasized.

She further stated that Murphy pursued a policy of personal interest rather than representing the interests of the United States.

Referring to Murphy’s warning that something tragic could happen to BiH if President Dodik’s agenda proceeds, Perić Romić noted that, having failed in his objectives, Murphy is now resorting to threats of tragedy. She questioned what kind of tragedies Murphy was referring to and what further plans he might have before the end of his mandate.
