As part of the “Days of the Cinematheque of Republika Srpska in St. Petersburg” event, audiences will be presented with eight films over the next three days, each uniquely reflecting the tradition, culture, and history of the Serb people, said Snežan Lalović, Director of the Cinematheque of Republika Srpska.
Lalović noted that the event will take place from tomorrow until Friday, November 8, at the St. Petersburg Institute of Film and Television.
He mentioned that films produced between 1992 and 2023 will be screened and announced that a cooperation agreement will be signed between the Cinematheque of Republika Srpska and the St. Petersburg Institute of Film and Television.
“This agreement will enable us to organize visits and facilitate student exchanges, which will greatly benefit young people studying film in Republika Srpska, as St. Petersburg has a significant film production industry,” Lalović told Srna.
He highlighted that this event is an opportunity for exchanging experiences and serves as a step towards further cooperation.
“We will also present an exhibition of posters created to mark the 30th anniversary of Srna Film and the Cinematheque of Republika Srpska. These posters showcase productions created jointly by these two institutions,” Lalović said.
He recalled that the Cinematheque of Republika Srpska showcased its works in Moscow last October, where the three-day program attracted a large audience.
The “Days of the Cinematheque of Republika Srpska in St. Petersburg” event will feature films including “Summer I Spent” directed by Miodrag Tarana and Zoran Maslić, “Souvenir” by Milovan Pandurević, “Exodus Again” by Snežan Lalović, “Alphabet, Little Alphabet” by Milenko Jovanović, “Tanaka’s Bridges” by Snežan Lalović, and “The Seal of the Ljubavić Brothers” by Slobodan Simojlović. The event will also screen “Yenni, A Small Light from the West” and “The Story of the Proud Regiment,” both directed by Slobodan Simojlović.
