The gathering of the World Uyghur Congress in Sarajevo is a harmful and unconstitutional act, and Republika Srpska demands that the relevant security services investigate and take action against those responsible, stated President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.
“The choice of Sarajevo as the venue for the World Uyghur Congress, along with the approval of Sarajevo’s municipal and federal authorities to host an organization regarded as terrorist, highlights the readiness of Bosniak political parties and certain NGOs to interfere in the internal affairs of a global economic power and a permanent member of the UN Security Council, the People’s Republic of China,” Dodik said.
He emphasized that this gesture by political Sarajevo undermines the principle of respecting “One China.”
“This kind of behavior by Bosniak-Muslim Sarajevo’s political scene is not unprecedented but rather a continuation of aligning with terrorism, a dangerous social phenomenon that has, for years, claimed innocent lives in BiH,” Dodik continued.
He noted that Republika Srpska highly values the People’s Republic of China and appreciates the projects and cooperation it has facilitated.
“Republika Srpska considers this event in Sarajevo dangerous and unnecessary, rejects it outright, and affirms no association with it other than disapproval. Republika Srpska sees this gathering as a direct attack on BiH’s framework, decision-making processes, and unity,” Dodik stated.
He added that there are boundaries, even in the conduct of Bosniak-Muslim Sarajevo.
“Republika Srpska firmly believes that the ‘One China’ policy is the only correct approach. Republika Srpska will not consent to introducing visas for the People’s Republic of China by BiH. Chinese President Xi Jinping is a man of peace, one who promotes cooperation among states and peoples. Republika Srpska fully supports the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative of the People’s Republic of China,” Dodik concluded.
