Concert of Stajkić and Čarkić held as part of “Autumn Sonata”

Baritone Vasa Stajkić and pianist Arsen Čarkić performed a concert in Banja Luka tonight as part of the International Music Festival “Autumn Sonata,” featuring the most beautiful Russian romances.

The audience at Banski Dvor enjoyed the enchanting melodies of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Georgy Sviridov, with the Saint Platonov Choir from Banja Luka as the concert guest.

Stajkić noted that the “Autumn Sonata” festival is a wonderful opportunity to usher the audience into the music season with a series of concerts by diverse musical performers.

“This is an authentic festival, as the repertoire at the concerts is wide-ranging, allowing the audience to encounter something that deviates from the classical and established norms,” said Stajkić.

Since 2000, Stajkić has been a permanent member of the Opera of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, where he has performed over 30 roles in more than 400 performances.

Čarkić serves as a full professor in the piano department at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka. He has had numerous solo performances, orchestral concerts, and chamber music engagements. Additionally, he composes, records, performs, arranges, and produces film and festival music, often participating in various artistic projects.

Tomorrow, on the third day of the 7th International Music Festival “Autumn Sonata,” the audience will be treated to a performance by the internationally acclaimed Italian pianist Lorenzo di Bella, a recipient of numerous awards at significant international competitions.

According to Banski Dvor, the festival “Autumn Sonata” is sponsored by the President of Republika Srpska and the City of Banja Luka.
