Cvijanović: Srpska’s policy is peace

Peace, stability, and security remain the policies of Republika Srpska, stated Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, during her appearance on the television program Telering.

Cvijanović emphasized that Srpska advocates for respect of the Constitution and will not allow the stripping of its constitutionally granted competencies.

She affirmed that Republika Srpska remains stable and will continue to fulfill its obligations towards budget beneficiaries.

If the Federation of BiH (FBiH) continues with policies directed against Republika Srpska, Cvijanović believes there is no future for BiH.

“Republika Srpska’s policy is peace, stability, security, and respect for the Constitution, the Dayton Agreement, and all the competencies that Republika Srpska has under the Constitution,” said Cvijanović.

The BiH Constitution clearly states that there are two entities and three constituent peoples, all with equal rights, and the policies against Srpska and the Serb people, led by political Sarajevo, will bring nothing positive for BiH, Cvijanović noted.

“We have a problem here—a political confrontation with, I would say, the Serbs. It’s not just Republika Srpska that they can’t stand. This isn’t a difficult statement; I base it on experience, and I recognize it. If your entire meeting is focused on speaking against the Serbs, Republika Srpska, the president of Serbia, the president of Republika Srpska, and institutions in Serbia and Srpska, what’s the issue here?” Cvijanović pointed out.

BiH does not have a clear official policy, neither domestic nor foreign, and is in complete disarray, according to Cvijanović.

She added that the difference between the policies of Srpska and FBiH is evident.

“While one side creates policy, the other implements the will and ideas of others,” she said.

“These are fundamental issues—what we, as elected representatives, are doing, and what our domestic, democratically elected institutions are doing. Do we act independently, as is the policy of Republika Srpska, with the support of the international community, or are others doing the work for us, dictating to us daily? That is the policy of some people in FBiH,” Cvijanović remarked.

Cvijanović stressed that all three constituent peoples are responsible for BiH’s future and reiterated that Republika Srpska’s policy is towards joining the European Union.

“Srpska remains stable and continues to make regular budget payments despite sanctions and obstructions,” Cvijanović concluded.
