Legal expert Slavko Mitrović stated that everything the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo does is aimed at the disappearance of Republika Srpska, which is why Srpska insists on the consistent implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
- We have previously been subjected to numerous Western pressures, but we are neither confused nor foolish, because we know that what the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo is doing is leading to the disappearance of Republika Srpska – Mitrović wrote in a column for Glas Srpske.
He emphasized that this is why Republika Srpska insists on the consistent application of the UN Charter, international covenants on civil and political rights, as well as on economic, social, and cultural rights.
- All these documents are individually listed as integral parts of the BiH Constitution, as Annex Four of the Dayton Peace Agreement – Mitrović stated.
He stressed that it is known that many diplomats have carried out the policies of their countries during their service, even when they disagreed with them. However, after retirement, they often “open up” in memoirs, trying to redeem themselves with the truth.
Mitrović recalled that in the book by former U.S. Ambassador William Montgomery, When the Cheers Stop, there is a wealth of what could be called the truth about the events in the former Yugoslavia, in contrast to the official positions of the U.S.
- Officially, much was presented as actions for peace, democracy, stability, and impartiality, but in reality, it was completely different – Mitrović pointed out.
