While some Western embassies are plotting economic collapse in the Balkans, in their own countries, there is recession and street violence.
In BiH, certain ambassadors do not hesitate to interfere in internal politics and openly attack the institutions of Republika Srpska, while in their own countries, there is complete financial and political chaos.
The United Kingdom is facing one of its biggest crises in the last decade. The attitude toward migrants has divided the British people. On the streets, there are protests from right-wing supporters, those who are against migrants, on one side, and anti-racism activists on the other.
“What we see here is something that is also present elsewhere in the West. The ruling elite is against the common people,” said historian and publicist Srđa Trifković.
There are those who believe that the protests in Britain are a prelude to civil war, but also those who say that everything will calm down soon. In any case, well-informed sources claim that the attitude toward migration and the political leadership of the United Kingdom are not the only reasons for the protests.
“Both Britain and many European countries are preoccupied with the Ukraine-Russia war and global issues, and they have much to say about the Western Balkans. However, within their own communities, they have enormous problems that are suppressed and that provoke anger among their citizens,” adds Dejan Miletić, president of the Center for Globalization Studies.
In Germany, citizens are not on the streets, but they don’t have much reason to be satisfied. According to experts, Germany is facing its greatest crisis since World War II. The situation is also not favorable in the United States, where there is increasing talk of entering a recession. Nevertheless, it seems that their diplomats prefer to deal with others’ affairs rather than their own.
