“We proudly competed under the flag of Republika Srpska, and I am honored to be the first athlete to win a medal for Srpska at the BRICS Games,” said young karate athlete Pavle Dujaković, who recently won a bronze medal in Kazan.
Appearing on RTRS Morning Program, Dujaković expressed hope that his bronze medal would not be the last, as the BRICS Games continue until Sunday.
- “It is a great honor to be the first to win a medal. It wasn’t easy due to the strong competition and the significant pressure from my Russian opponent and the home crowd. I received immense support from our fans, for which I am especially grateful,” said Dujaković.
He emphasized that the bronze medal in Kazan is the pinnacle of his work so far and that he now faces serious competition in the senior category.
Pavle Dujaković’s coach, Branko Derajić, highlighted that the goal since the founding of the Karate Club Energia was to reach the top of the sport.
- “The bronze medal in Kazan is the culmination of our efforts and hard work. It is just the beginning of Pavle’s career, and his time is yet to come,” said Derajić.
He added that their coaching philosophy is based on a love for the sport and perseverance.

- “Without that, there are no top results. However, we wouldn’t have achieved this without the support of Srpska’s institutions, the city, and sponsors, to whom we are also grateful,” Derajić emphasized.
