A fire that broke out on the car of returnee Drago Rupar in the Mostar neighborhood of Hodbine was deliberately set, stated Ljudevit Marić, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
Marić said that the Police Station South has handed over the case to the Department of Criminal Police, which is conducting the investigation.
“The investigation is ongoing, and we will inform the public as soon as we have results,” Marić noted.
Drago Rupar, a returnee to the Mostar neighborhood of Hodbine, had his car set on fire in front of his family house during the night of June 13 to 14.
“I smelled burning, went outside, and saw my ‘Kadett’ car on fire. The rear part of the car was completely burned. The police came and conducted an investigation. I am in shock and at a loss for words. I do not feel safe. I live here with my brother and do not understand who we could be bothering or why this happened,” said Rupar.
