The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, today extended his congratulations to all journalists, editorial teams, editors, and the Association of Journalists of Republika Srpska on the occasion of May 3rd – International Day of Media Freedom. He emphasized that the Government of Srpska will continue to foster an open and partnership-based relationship with the media, supporting freedom of expression which is crucial for any democratic society.
Višković highlighted that the media, as a reflection of society and a portrayal of the public, as well as a driver of social change, bear great responsibility and the duty to inform citizens accurately, objectively, and impartially.
- On behalf of the Government of Republika Srpska and myself, on the occasion of May 3rd – International Day of Media Freedom, I send you sincere congratulations, with the wish that you continue to report professionally and objectively on the most important issues of our social reality. Free, independent, and professional media are an important factor in every society, and the journalism profession is one of the main pillars of democracy development – stated in the congratulatory note from Prime Minister Višković.
