Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Staša Košarac, stated that he advocates for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s membership in BRICS, as it is a union of friendly states that promote political dialogue and economic cooperation, open up new markets, and provide access to new technologies.
He assessed that BRICS has an increasingly important role in global frameworks, as evidenced by the fact that numerous countries have shown interest in joining this organization.
“Last year, I proposed to the Council of Ministers to initiate the procedure for submitting an application for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s membership in BRICS, but in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is neither the courage nor the understanding for that story,” emphasized Košarac.
He believes that political prejudices and sycophancy of part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina undoubtedly lead to a dead-end.
“Sarajevo does not even want to openly discuss BRICS because it still believes in the ‘colorful lies’ of the West. It is entirely clear that Republika Srpska will not allow itself to be held hostage to such fantasies about the West as the only and exclusive option,” Košarac stated on Instagram.
He emphasized that Republika Srpska wants cooperation with BRICS countries and that the movement towards this union precisely demonstrates the responsible policy of Srpska and its president, Milorad Dodik.
Dodik stated yesterday that BRICS is interesting for Serbs and expressed hope that Republika Srpska will have the opportunity in the future to obtain observer status in this organization.
