The President of the Republika Srpska congratulated the Day of Fighters of the Republika Srpska to the members of the legendary unit “The Wolves from Vučijak,” which left an indelible mark on the history of the Serb people and the Republika Srpska.
“I address you today – February 14th, with deep respect and with pride in my heart, on the day when we commemorate the Day of Fighters of the Republika Srpska and the day when we especially remember the commander of ‘The Wolves from Vučijak,’ Colonel Veljko Milanković, who passed away on this date 31 years ago. May his and your heroism and valor be the light that guides us on the path of freedom and justice,” Dodik stated in the congratulatory message.
The President of Srpska emphasized that through struggle and sacrifice, Commander Milanković and “The Wolves” demonstrated bravery and loyalty, becoming a symbol of Serb national pride.
“Every step you took and every deed reminds us of our duty to protect the freedom and independence of the Republika Srpska,” Dodik highlighted.
He used this opportunity to wish them much personal and family happiness and for the Republika Srpska to develop, preserving it together for future generations.
During the Defense-Patriotic War of 1992-1995, 215,671 members of the Army of the Republika Srpska were engaged, and 23,752 laid down their lives for Srpska.
