AMERICAN PROFESSOR: CRISIS IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA COULD ESCALATE ALREADY THIS MONTH

Professor Joseph criticized the Biden administration for appeasing Aleksandar Vučić, stating that as a result, we now have crises in the Western Balkans.

Edward Joseph, a professor at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Washington, criticized the United States’ policy in the Western Balkans, particularly in Serbia.

He stated that American President Joe Biden understands the situation in the Balkans, but criticized his administration for handling everything wrongly.

He then uttered a rather alarming sentence, stating that in Bosnia and Herzegovina, “the crisis could escalate already this month.”

“They simply abandoned all of that. And now we have a disparity in the Balkans where the U.S. treats Serbia’s neighbors with much stronger and stricter criteria than Serbia itself. I want to emphasize that in the past year, we had two violent conflicts in Kosovo. We have potential problems in Montenegro, a NATO member. And we also have a growing crisis that could escalate already this month in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Joseph.

He added that the Biden administration had appeased Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

“They have this belief that somehow Vučić can be won over to our side, so they appease him and cater to him. This only projected fear. Essentially, the U.S. projected fear of Belgrade through its actions, which Vučić rightly interpreted as weakness and exploited. All of this, of course, benefits his ally, Russia,” he said.
