Following a sophisticated hacker attack on the Integrated Health Information System, all medical and personal data of citizens have been preserved and secured, thanks to the timely and swift response of the expert services of the Health Insurance Fund, which are working around the clock to restore the system, as stated by the Republic of Srpska Health Insurance Fund.
“Considering it’s an internationally organized hacker action being investigated by the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Fund plans to convene a session of the ISIS Supervisory Board in the coming days and invites all relevant institutions to jointly decide on the next steps related to this hacker attack,” the Fund’s statement mentioned.
The Fund takes the opportunity to inform healthcare facilities that patients will be admitted without electronic cards, and during these days, the Fund will finance healthcare for all citizens, insured or uninsured. A separate instruction will be provided to inform healthcare facilities about this.
