EUFOR has not received evidence or information confirming the presence or activities of any paramilitary camps in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as confirmed by these armed forces.
Regarding the information alleging the existence of certain military camps under the control of other states in Bosnia and Herzegovina, EUFOR emphasized that they have no knowledge of this and employ various means to gain a detailed and objective understanding of the security situation in BiH.
“Beyond the means of data collection available to us, EUFOR maintains regular contacts with its partners in the BiH authorities, from local to state level, dealing with security issues,” it was stated, among other things.
They also highlighted their commitment to cooperating with the authorities in BiH to effectively respond to potential security threats.
“EUFOR continuously invests efforts in monitoring the developments in the region to maintain a safe and stable environment. EUFOR remains firmly dedicated to security in the region,” the response to Klix stated, along with a reminder that EUFOR is active at the local level throughout BiH, with its 19 Liaison and Observation Teams (LOT houses) located in local communities across the country.
“The LOT houses are in daily contact with local communities and authorities. This enables EUFOR to maintain direct contact with the population and identify any issues that could pose a threat to a safe and stable environment. With the ongoing support and commitment of the EU, EUFOR will continue to monitor the development of the security situation and maintain close ties with our partners in the BiH authorities. EUFOR is committed to a strong partnership with BiH,” the peacekeeping forces concluded.
