Dodik: US visit will benefit Republika Srpska, Bosniaks must recognize changing international landscape

President Milorad Dodik has expressed confidence that his upcoming visit to the United States will be highly successful and beneficial for Republika Srpska. He also urged Bosniak political representatives who are attempting to downplay the significance of his visit to focus on their own problems, define their political position and recognize that the international political landscape has changed.

Dodik explained that he is traveling to the United States to attend a gathering dedicated to discussing political initiatives for the next two years, aimed at ensuring continued progress and cooperation among sovereigntist political movements worldwide, led by the policies of US President Donald Trump.

In a telephone statement to SRNA, Dodik said he had received an invitation earlier, undergone the necessary security checks and secured the opportunity to participate in what he described as an important political gathering.

He emphasized that he intends to present Republika Srpska and its current political position in the best possible light.

Dodik expects meetings with US congressmen and MAGA supporters

Dodik said it would be an honor to meet members of the US Congress, influential American political figures and business leaders associated with the MAGA movement.

He described the gathering as an excellent opportunity to promote Republika Srpska and establish contacts with individuals involved in shaping US political and economic policies.

Dodik also criticized reactions from Sarajevo, claiming that some political figures were attempting to diminish the importance of his visit.

According to him, their criticism stems from frustration over the absence of Bosniak representatives at the gathering.

“They are not going where I am going. They are not at Mar-a-Lago, they are not in Miami, and they will not be there. There will once again be some spiteful comments and nothing more,” Dodik stated.

Dodik: The international political context has changed

Dodik argued that Bosniak political representatives must recognize the changes taking place in international politics, particularly following Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

Referring to Bosniaks as “Muslims who later became Bosniaks,” Dodik said they should understand that the international context has changed and that waiting for the end of Trump’s presidential term would be futile.

“By then, however, many things will have been resolved,” Dodik said.

He emphasized that political representatives of the three constituent peoples in BiH should prepare for serious discussions about the country’s future.

“In that regard, they should prepare for a definitive discussion with the Croats and us, so that we can establish something that will primarily preserve peace in BiH and enable the country to function peacefully while resolving existing problems,” Dodik stated.

Dodik reiterated his expectation that the visit to the United States would produce the best possible outcome for Republika Srpska.
