Milorad Dodik has expressed his support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Israel’s parliamentary elections, emphasizing the historical ties between the Serb and Jewish peoples and the friendship between Republika Srpska and Israel.
In a post on the social media platform X, Dodik extended his sincere wishes for success to Netanyahu, whom he described as a friend.
“The Serb and Jewish peoples are connected by a history that has taught us that freedom, security and the right to our own identity can never be taken for granted. We must fight for them persistently and determinedly every single day,” Dodik wrote.
He emphasized that this shared historical experience has created mutual understanding that transcends temporary political interests and international circumstances.
“At a time of major geopolitical challenges, friendships that are not based on immediate interests but on deep mutual understanding, respect and trust are particularly valuable. These are the foundations upon which relations between Republika Srpska and Israel are built,” he added.
Dodik highlights Netanyahu’s political legacy.
Dodik noted that Benjamin Netanyahu has occupied a central position in Israeli political life for decades.
“His long political career has been marked by efforts to ensure that the preservation of Jewish identity, the security of citizens and the survival of the State of Israel remain fundamental national priorities,” Dodik stated.
He also pointed to economic development, reforms and diplomatic achievements during Netanyahu’s terms in office.
“His terms in office have included economic growth and reforms, the development of international partnerships and diplomatic initiatives such as the Abraham Accords. At the same time, Israel has strengthened its position as one of the world’s leaders in technology and innovation,” he said.
According to Dodik, these achievements are closely followed in Republika Srpska, where Netanyahu’s longstanding political role is recognized and appreciated.
Personal meetings strengthened mutual respect and trust
Dodik emphasized that his meetings and discussions with Netanyahu have further strengthened their mutual respect and commitment to maintaining friendly relations.
“My meetings and conversations with him have further reinforced mutual respect and trust, as well as our commitment to continuing friendly relations,” Dodik wrote.
He concluded his message by expressing his wishes for the Israeli people and reaffirming his personal support for Netanyahu.
“I wish the Israeli people peace, security and a stable future. My friend, I stand firmly with you and your people,” Dodik concluded.
