Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić has emphasized that the immense sacrifices made during the war oblige Serbs to protect every inch of Republika Srpska, as well as peace and freedom. His remarks followed the emotional testimony of Niko Košarac, who lost both of his sons on the same day during the war in BiH.
“The testimony of Niko Košarac, who lost his two sons, Spasimir and Milomir, soldiers of the Army of Republika Srpska, in the same trench on the same day, is deeply painful and heartbreaking,” Minić wrote on X.
“The Košarac family buried their sons twice, the second time at the Novi Zejtinlik Military Memorial Cemetery following the exodus of Sarajevo Serbs,” he added.
Niko Košarac, from Sokolac, shared his testimony with the Republika Srpska Memorial Center, recounting the deaths of his sons Spasimir and Milomir, who served in the Ilijaš Brigade and were killed on the same day in 1994.
During the exodus of Sarajevo Serbs, the family transferred their sons’ remains and reburied them at the Novi Zejtinlik Military Memorial Cemetery in Sokolac.
