The “Discover Serb Suffering” campaign, organized in Rome by the Republika Srpska Memorial Center, has drawn criticism from Mustafa Cerić, former Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community in BiH.
Cerić, who publicly advocates respect for the Constitution, rights and legal norms, did not use the full name of Republika Srpska in his post.
Instead, he wrote that the campaign was organized and financed by the institutions of what he described as the “smaller Bosnian entity, ErEs.”
Cerić accused Republika Srpska of spreading lies and propaganda.
“This is an attempt to apply a pattern of lies associated with Dobrica Ćosić – lies as an alleged form of patriotism, a means of national self-encouragement and political inventiveness,” Cerić wrote.
His remarks drew criticism for portraying a campaign dedicated to highlighting Serb victims as propaganda.
