Dodik: There is no place in Republika Srpska for symbols under which Serbs were killed

Wartime symbols have no place in the public space of Republika Srpska, President Milorad Dodik said in a post on X.

“Have the Bosniaks abandoned the current flag of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, since they so insist on displaying the wartime flag and regret that its display has been banned in Republika Srpska?” Dodik asked.

He stated that the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina could “place its wartime flag in its own museum,” adding that “there is no place in Republika Srpska for a symbol under which Serbs were killed.”

Dodik added that the ongoing debate over wartime symbols demonstrates that political divisions in Bosnia and Herzegovina continue to persist.

“These daily complaints best illustrate the tragedy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where Bosniak politics, even after 30 years, has not abandoned wartime slogans and wartime flags,” Dodik wrote.
