The National Library in Mrkonjić Grad hosted the posthumous presentation of Amajlija, the latest poetry collection by Marija Rožić, who passed away last year.
Although the manuscript had been completed during the author’s lifetime, the book was published this year. In accordance with Rožić’s wishes, a formal book launch was organized following its publication.
Amajlija is a collection of patriotic poetry written in three-line verse. During her literary career, Rožić published 31 books.
Živko Bujić, who reviewed Amajlija, described the event as a fitting tribute to the late poet.
“It is a meaningful gesture to posthumously present Marija’s final book, Amajlija, in this institution. Even the title carries a powerful message. In my review, I wrote that a book itself can become an amulet,” Bujić said.
