First European summit on economy and security begins in Banja Luka

The first European Summit on Economy and Security, organized under the patronage of the Gold Institute for International Cooperation, has officially begun in Banja Luka.

The summit is being held at the “Terme” complex in Banja Luka. During the opening ceremony, participants were addressed by Acting Director of the Office for International Cooperation of Republika Srpska Ana Trišić-Babić and President of the Gold Institute for International Cooperation Eli Gold.

General Michael Flynn spoke about the future of transatlantic security in a multipolar world, while Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović presented the diplomatic and economic vision of Republika Srpska. Prime Minister Savo Minić is expected to participate in the closing addresses, which should define the framework for the continuation of the transatlantic dialogue with the Balkans.

The summit has gathered prominent representatives of the institutions of Republika Srpska and other countries, as well as figures from the worlds of business, security, diplomacy and politics. The event is also attended by Michael Flynn, chairman of the Gold Institute, retired American general and former national security adviser to Donald Trump, along with officials from Serbia.

One of the key goals of the event is to present Republika Srpska as a place of international dialogue.

The summit will feature numerous presentations, panels and focused discussions on topics such as the development of the European and transatlantic security architecture and its implications for the Balkans.

Participants will also discuss economic resilience, regional integration and investment opportunities in Balkan economies, as well as the role of democratic institutions, governance and the rule of law in supporting security and economic growth.

Following his return from Moscow, SNSD President Milorad Dodik is expected to meet with summit participants tomorrow.

The Office of the Gold Institute for International Strategy Europe has also been officially opened in Banja Luka, making the city the first European representative office of the Washington-based organization.
