Commemorations marking 34 years since the killing of JNA members in the Tuzla Column attack of 1992 will be held today in Tuzla and Bijeljina.
On May 15, 1992, Muslim paramilitary forces attacked a Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA) column in Tuzla that was supposed to leave the Tuzla barracks based on a previously reached agreement.
A total of 51 people were killed in the attack, while 78 were wounded. Three more later died from their injuries.
The commemoration will begin at Brčanska Malta in Tuzla, the site where the JNA members were killed.
A peace walk and memorial gathering are planned, while a memorial service for the killed soldiers will also be held in Bijeljina at the Pučile cemetery.
