The premiere performance of “Adulterers”, produced by Teatar Derventa, was held last night before a fully packed hall at the Cultural Center, with demand exceeding available seating.
The audience enjoyed an evening filled with vivid and recognizable characters, as this comedy lived up to expectations.
The play presents, through exaggerated situations and elements of satire, the story of two young married couples who, by a twist of circumstances, find themselves caught in a whirlwind of mutual infidelity.
This very interplay of confusion and role reversals formed the basis for numerous comedic moments that triggered loud reactions from the audience.
On stage, Dragana Plavšić, Sanja Jeftić, Dragan Vlajić, and Siniša Tešanović stood out, delivering performances of the characters Grubiša, Verka, Bogoljub, and Mirka at a level approaching professional standards.
Although performed by an amateur ensemble, the difference compared to professional theater was barely noticeable, as confirmed by the prolonged applause at the end of the show.
The author of the text and one of the actors, Siniša Tešanović, recalled that the play was originally written in 2008 during his student days at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, and that it had previously had its stage life within Dis Theater, as reported by Derventa Cafe.
