Dodik: Konaković abused his position; glad the US sees the conditions we work in

The president of Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, Milorad Dodik, stated that the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, abused his position by sending a letter to Judson University president Gene Crume, criticizing the planned award recognizing Dodik for leadership and defense of democracy.

“That is Konaković’s personal stance. Unlike his expectations, people in the US understand what is going on. This is just one opinion from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Everything Konaković has done during his mandate has been outside the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and outside the agreed foreign policy. As a result, the country’s foreign policy has collapsed,” Dodik said.

He added that such actions undermine trust among political actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina and do not contribute to stability.

Dodik also stated that Konaković cannot change the decision regarding the award and his upcoming visit to the US.

“I am glad that they will see the conditions in which we work. They know what kind of pressures we face here,” Dodik said.

Earlier, Konaković sent a letter to Judson University criticizing the announcement that Dodik would be a guest at the World Leaders Forum 2026 on April 30, where he is expected to receive an award for leadership and the defense of democracy.
