With the premiere performance of “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” directed by Belinda Stijak, the 5th Juhu Fest was officially opened last night at the City Theatre “Jazavac.”
This traditional children’s and family festival once again confirmed its status as one of the most important cultural events for young audiences in the region.
Creative team and talented cast
The dramatization of one of the world’s most famous fairy tales was written by Aleksandar Vasiljević. The set design was created by Sara Stjepanović, while authentic costumes were designed by Vladimirka Velaga. The music, which enhances the atmosphere of the play, was composed by Bojan Stijak. Stage movement and choreography were designed by Ana Tešić, while Aleksandra Savić was responsible for language editing and pronunciation.
The acting ensemble is led by talented performers Pavle Pavić, Ilija Ivanović, and Branislav Aleksić. They are joined by acting students from the Academy of Arts at the University of Banja Luka: Vojin Topalović, Vojin Vukelić, and Danilo Berar.
Music for the youngest and the traditional “Concert for babies”
Before the premiere, the audience enjoyed one of the festival’s most beloved segments—the traditional “Concert for babies.” This program, which each year opens the theatre doors to the youngest visitors, had a special touch this time thanks to the music selection prepared by DJ Woody.
Guest performance from Mostar and fairy tale reading
On the second day of the festival, the audience will have the opportunity to watch a guest performance by the Mostar Puppet Theatre with the play “The Conceited Ladybug,” directed by Siniša Novković. The performance will be held at 7 p.m., followed by a gathering with fairy tale readings. The same play will also be performed at 1 p.m. for primary school students arriving from Srbac.
